What Polygon (POL) is#
POL is the native token of the Polygon ecosystem, replacing MATIC, and it serves as the gas and staking token on Polygon Chain, also called Polygon PoS. Polygon Labs develops the network. Transactions reach deterministic finality in about 2 to 5 seconds, and up to 105 proof-of-stake validators secure the chain by staking POL on Ethereum.
